(For the record, I strongly disagree with the idea of a constant internet connection to play simply because of poor residental QOS that exists in the US -- but its not stopping me from buying it).

- Items don't "bind" in Diablo. Therefore, there is always going to be a fluid and free market for anything and everything.
- Where there is a free digital market, there are Asian sweatshops.
- If there is no cash AH, you will have the same problem. People will purchase items from websites. This process cannot be stopped without altering the way loot works in Diablo from the ground up (which I do NOT think they should do.)
Therefore, providing the cash AH gives players a way to do what they were going to do anyway legitimately and without risk of getting their account stolen. It also puts extra $$$ in Blizzard's pockets, but frankly I don't care about that.
All you can do is tune it out. There is NOTHING stopping you from playing the game the way you intend to play it. What other people do doesn't affect you (unless it's PvP, in which case we go right back to "they would have purchased it online anyway.")
