I ended up keeping the "volume" on them pretty low, and only have them operating up to about 40hz. Otherwise I felt like it did start to feel cheesy and gimmicky.
I watched a few things with them last night. The early scene in Top Gun: Maverick where he is flying the test plane is incredible. I really found it complimented the low bass there well. It had always annoyed me when the walls are shaking and I couldn't feel a thing.
Opening horse battle of John Wick 4 was very cool. Then I watched an episode of Fallout and 3 Body Problem. It felt very natural in both of those shows.
If anyone is interested I got:
2 of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CDDPJTI?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
This amp to power them: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VHG2LR9?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

I think I finally got my Klipsch KSW-10 amp fixed. I've mentioned before it would THUMP when auto-sensing itself on. Pulled the amp out and re-did a bunch of solder joints where the board has slowly cooked itself over the years.
Also, I bought a similar Fosi amp for our outdoor speakers by the pool. The one I got isn't much bigger than that one, has bluetooth, and drives the EV-8s connected to it really, REALLY well for being such a tiny little amp. https://fosiaudio.com/products/bluetooth-amplifier-2-channel-stereo-amp-receiver-class-d-amplifier-for-home-audio-system-fosi-audio-bt20a-updated?variant=32737490894932
