EXCUSE ME 2k shack menz - but I was assured that the whole copy protection thing was blown out of proportion.

I'm sorry, but that sounds like hardware fingerprinting - something I specifically asked about and was told wasn't in the game. So what happens if we hit our hardware limit? We call you guys? For a game?

I really hope theres a proper solution to this or you are going to see an increase in piracy, not a decrease. In fact I can see tons of leigitmate customers now looking for cracks just to remove this check for future installs.

  i think calling it hardware fingerprinting is a bit alarmist. no data is transmitted to securom, and we don't give out any information about your computer. you DON'T need to access the internet every time you play this game, only the first time. and you CAN reinstall it on a new computer if you need to.
  
  if you change around your computer hardware a lot and thusly need to change your install of bioshock, just uninstall the game completely before reinstalling it, and you will be fine.
  
  if you have, for example, a laptop and a desktop you both want to run bioshock, you can do that with your PC copy.
