StarCraft classic soundtrack coming to SC2

For anyone who played a lot of StarCraft (or watched it played professionally), the RTS's soundtrack is a permanent fixture in their head, seared into ear canals like spiral soundwaves on a record and played by your fingernail every time you root around in there. Delightfully, Blizzard has remastered the hot tracks, and will add them into StarCraft II with patch 2.1.

Blizzard has been allowing players to get a limited StarCraft 2 experience for free for quite some time now with its Starter Edition, but now players who don't want to shell out cash for the full game can get an upgraded experience as long as they have a friend who isn't so stingy with the cash.

Celebrate StarCraft's 15th birthday with retro portraits for SC2

StarCraft turns 15 today and, to celebrate the big day, Blizzard will hand out special retro portraits to StarCraft II players. The faces from the original game's box art, once so fiercesome and stunningly realistic but now a bit goofy and so plainly CG, can grace your SC profile if you play at least one online game in the next few weeks.

StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm sells 1.1 million copies in 48 hours

We knew StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm would be a hot commodity when it was released, given its near fanatical multiplayer and eSports following. Blizzard confirmed just how hot the title was today, announcing that the game had sold about 1.1 million copies in the first 48 hour hours.
