In all honestly I just wanted to try it out. I don't plan on using Cortex that much then.

I kind of want some of the fields in Cortex submission form to be optional. Like either the description field or the title field has to be filled out but not both.
And what if you wanted to submit an animated gif instead of a still image? Or at least an image that doesn't conform to a specific aspect ratio?
I'm also annoyed that Cortex comments down at the very bottom doesn't underline or link urls to that you put into that field.

It's mostly been used for random stuff but it could be used for serious gamer content.
In comes down to how much effort people want to put into writing something. That's literally the biggest obstacle here.
Asif has professional staff writers who write reviews about games but he's also making it possible for you and me to prove we do the same.
Not sure if this is a sign that eventually Asif will make cuts to his writing staff. I'm going to assume that's not the case here. But he hasn't made a profit from shacknews in years and this year is definitely no exception to that. -

Yes, I think Cortex can be really anything. And like you said - folks can turn it off if they wish. I am not a fan of the "gatekeeping" thus far on what should and shouldn't be Cortex content.
