Hi all,
I've decided to participate in Cortex in the best way I know how to contribute. Music!
I've been a part of this community for 15 years and I love lots of topics but my favorite is music. I am also a songwriter, producer, record collector and hyperactive playlist creator. I have created playlists of 5000+ songs becuase, well it's what I do. It started like many, creating mix tapes for friends (AND LOVERS) then it morphed into collaborative playlists and so on.
What I'd like to try here to contribute to the community is every week link you all five of my favorite currently rotated songs. I'll start with youtube links, f people like it I can change the format to spotify links, links to playlists, or other formats.

KAINEN's (FIRST EDITION) SONGS OF THE WEEK FOR SHACKNEWS : Week of Nov 12
- The Marias - Only in My Dreams close your eyes and let the psychedelic dreampop sounds take you over, this song is about yearning for a love undistrubed and disrupted by one's demons, in this case found in 'only just a dream'. Beautiful track.
- I know Leopard - Landmine what's that sound? how could this 2018 gem sound like a 70s glam rock songwriting powerhouse? Yeah, that's what I thought. I dare you to say one bad word about that chorus. It's fucking brilliant.
- The Roots - Seed 2.0 this song is an undeniable soulful rockin classic, and I promise you if you play this at any party 1) everyone will love it 2) everyone will groove it and 2) many will dance and have a better time for just hearing it.
- Wand - Melted Rope Pink Floyd fans out there? Try a modern take on the chord progressions and mind bending solos you know you crave in your veins. Put this song on and let your mind wander....I think the music in this song is breathtaking. Trust me, its a fucking TRIP
- Jungle - Busy Earnin' this song fucking kicks ass. For the person (or significant other) you know that puts their work and chase for the dollar above eveything else. dare you to find a more fresh funkier song in the next 24 hours than this by a modern group. if you can, reply to this thread and I'll be the judge of that.
