Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality Out Next Week on VR
As if watching the show wasn't whacky enough, you can now 'experience' it.
The Rick and Morty TV show on Adult Swim is a pretty whacky affair. Now, just imagine being able to "experience" that wackiness through VR. Good. Now you have in mind what Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality is all about. And it will be out on April 20.
The virtual reality title, created by Owlchemy Labs, puts players "in" the crazy multi-dimension world that Rick and Morty call home. Want fake doors? They're there. Want to smash the Plumbus? Yup, you can do that, too. Teleporting is also possible.
“We really believe fans are going to lose their minds at what we’ve developed,” Owlchemy Labs CEO Alex Schwartz said in a release. “It’s been an incredible experience to develop for one of our favorite shows and see the joy on players’ faces when they get to explore Rick’s garage in VR, physically step through portals, and interact naturally with their hands in the world they’re already so familiar with. Players are interacting with the world of Rick and Morty in a way only possible in virtual reality, and they love it!”
Of course, Schwartz may have forgotten what Rick actually said about love. "Listen Morty, I hate to break it to you, but what people calls 'love' is just a chemical reaction that compels animals to breed. It hits hard, Morty, then it slowly fades, leaving you stranded in a failing marriage."
The game will be available for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive through Steam and Oculus Home for $29.99. You should at least like it.
