Splatoon Tournament Offers E3 Trip as a Prize
Nintendo and online tournament site Battlefy are rewarding inking skills with a trip to see what's coming next.
Nintendo is teaming up with online tournament organizer Battlefy to reward your Splatoon skills with a trip to E3 2017.
The tourney events will kick off on April 22 at 11 AM PT, with a round of Turf War. That will determine the 16 teams moving on to the finals. The finals will consist of Turf War, Splat Zones, and Tower Control in single-elimination, best-of-five contests. In the Grand Finals on April 29 at 11 AM PT, the two remaining teams will play Rainmaker mode to determine the final winner.
If you're interested in participating, gather three more squid kids (plus one optional backup player) and register through Battlefy. Click on the "Splatoon Inkling Open." Keep in mind that participants have to be age 18 or older, and a U.S. resident. The entire winning team will get airfare to Los Angeles, a three-night hotel stay, and a three-day pass to E3, along with a Nintendo Switch, Splatoon 2, and some Splatoon gear.
Splatoon 2 will launch on Switch sometime this summer, but Nintendo hasn't given a more specific release window yet. Players got their first taste of the game last weekend, when Nintendo kicked off its Global Testfire event.
