Learn More About The Predatory Typhon Race Terrorizing Talos I in Prey
From shapeshifting to psychic nullwaves, the Typhon really have it out for Prey protagonist Morgan Yu.
Bethesda's upcoming reboot of Prey is touching down on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this summer, and it's bringing a whole new cadre of alien menaces with it. The Typhon will be wreaking havoc on the Talos I space station players are tasked with exploring, and a new video from Bethesda shows off exactly what they're capable of.
The "Typhon Research" video details the various abilities the aliens possess, namely that which protagonist Morgan Yu will find that he's stuck fighting against as he makes his way through Talos I. The Typhon can mimic inanimate objects, fire off projectile orbs, use telepathy for psychic nullwave attacks, and generally just act as nuisances to Yu. They certainly look like they're going to be a real pain to deal with, that's for sure.
As a refresher, this release of Prey is a reboot that won't be tied to the original release of Prey from 2006. Instead, it will follow a brand new storyline where President John F. Kennedy was never assassinated, leaving room for the United States' space program to flourish in response to the U.S.S.R.'s experiments. Humanity finally reached space and ended up being terrorized by the Typhon, which culminated in a partnership between the United States and U.S.S.R. in order to attempt to quell the threat. Thus, the space ship Talos I was created as a sort of holding cell for the Typhon. That's where you (and Yu) come in.
You'll be able to pick up arms against the Typhon on May 5, when Prey hits store shelves.
