Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy Voice Cast Announced
Talent from The Walking Dead, Uncharted, and Shadow of Mordor round out the main crew of misfits.
Telltale has announced the voice cast for its upcoming episodic series based on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, just ahead of the game's first in-depth reveal at PAX East this weekend. Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, The Walking Dead) will take the lead role as Star-Lord. He's joined by Emily O'Brien (Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor) as Gamora, Nolan North (Uncharted series) as Rocket Raccoon, Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs) as Drax, and Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among Us, League of Legends) as the always-articulate Groot.
Tomorrow, March 10 at 6 PM in the Albatross Theater, the Telltale Games team and Marvel Games Creative Director Bill Rosemann will be hosting a panel on the upcoming game. If you can't make it out to PAX, you can check it out on Twitch. Then a week later, SXSW attendees in Texas will "Crowd Play" an early version of the first episode, using their phones to vote on choices as it's played on-stage.
Though Guardians of the Galaxy's success at the box office likely boosted the property's profile, we recently learned that Marvel isn't being too much of a stickler for staying within the cinematic canon. That means that while the Guardians of the Galaxy game is likely to have thematic similarities, it can stray from the path and even contradict plot points that you may recognize from the film. The first teaser-trailer for GotG premiered at The Game Awards, though the secret had slipped out long before then, forcing them to announce early.
