Battle Breakers in a New Tactical RPG from Epic Games
Epic's next game is being developed for mobile and PC.
While Epic Games has been busy with its MOBA Paragon–and Unreal Engine 4, of course–the company has quietly been working on other projects. At GDC today, it unveiled one of them, a tactical RPG for mobile and PC called Battle Breakers.
The game features hundreds of heroes that can be recruited to form a team to free other heroes and monsters to take back the planet from a Crystal Overlord The game was developed using the Unreal Engine and offers cross-platform play. It has already had a soft launch in the Philippines.
“This started with a little team within Epic that had a core idea for a cool gameplay loop we never saw before,” Epic Creative Director Donald Mustard told GamesBeat. “The team developed that loop and added cool role-playing game meta mechanics. It’s got a 1980s Saturday morning cartoon intro that brings you into this awesome world.”
Mustard said Battle Breakers is one of six games Epic has been working on, although he didn't go into any detail on what the others might be.
You can register for a free in-game hero on Android by visiting Google Play's Battle Breakers page.
