Nioh Speed-Run Record Set at 96 Minutes
Ni-oh my goodness!
The Nioh speedrun world record has been set at 96 minutes. This unbelievable feat was accomplished by Twitch streamer Distortion2 live on February 20.
This streamer has a history of speedrunning RPG’s and going for world records in games such as Resident Evil 7 and Dark Souls 3. Though, none of the other games pose a larger challenge to gamers than Nioh. Unlike most RPG’s, Nioh doesn’t give users much of a chance to power-level or finesse their way through every engagement. So even attempting to speedrun this monster takes very refined skills, along with precision planning and execution, with little room for error. Throughout his record setting run of Nioh, Distortion2 died six times. He went on to call this run just “decent”, stating that he could trim down the time down to less than 90 minutes by minimizing his deaths. For the average gamer, it’s currently believed that Nioh’s main story will take you about 70 hours to to complete. You can watch Distortion2’s speedrun below.
Nioh has only been out for a couple of weeks, but has already become well-known for its difficulty and unforgiving boss fights. Team Ninja’s action RPG is available now, exclusive to PlayStation 4 for $59.99.
