For Honor Launches After Six Million Joined the Betas
It's Vikings vs. Samurai vs. Knights in a bloody battle to the death.
Ubisoft's much-anticipated multiplayer battleground For Honor has launched, and players can now officially swear fealty to either Vikings, Knights or Samurai. And if the betas are any indication, there are millions of people ready to do just that.
More than six million unique players participated in the closed and open betas held by Ubisoft prior to the game's launch. In all, more than two million minutes were played across Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, the company said. In addition, the PC betas set a record with more than 1.8 million participants.
Faction War, For Honor's cross-platform metagame, officially kicks off its first 10-week season where players will battle for in-game goodies depending on how their faction places at the end. The season will then reset, and the bloodbath will begin again. Three seasons of content are planned, with new heroes, maps and modes coming for free. Season Pass holders got a special Day One War Pack with today's launch, and will get early access to all new content.
The Knights won the Faction War in the open beta, and earned participants a few customization perks for launch day.
