1-2-Switch Shows Footage of Some of Its 28 Minigames
1-2-Switch is a perfect game to show off what some of the Nintendo Switch's unique capabilities are.
1-2-Switch is a Nintendo Switch launch title, and perhaps no other game due out shows off what the Switch can do so well. Nintendo Japan has released some news short clips of some of the 28 minigames that will be included in 1-2-Switch. These minigames range from the lighthearted "Soda" to the somewhat bizarre "Baby." I've also included videos of the older minigames that we saw at the Nintendo Switch reveal event, so this is the comprehensive list of 1-2-Switch minigames we know about at this time.
Soda
1-2-Switch's Soda minigame has players shaking up one of the Joycon controllers like a bottle of soda. The objective is to shake up the bottle enough to where it will pop when you pass it to the next player. The hazard here is you only have a small sound indicator to let you know how close the soda bottle is to exploding.
Baby
In the Baby minigame, you have to cradle your Nintendo Switch like a baby. You must rock your Switch and coddle it lest it wakes up and cries its little digital eyes out. I'm gonna have to say that I'm not a huge fan of this one.
Beach Flag
The Beach Flag minigame in 1-2-Switch is a pretty straight forward run to a flag on a beach. You run in place while holding a Joy-Con controller and whoever is the best at it wins.
Eating Contest
Eating Contest uses the built-in microphone in the Joy-Con controller. You place it in front of, not in, your mouth and make chewing noises. Once the time limit is up, 1-2-Switch will tally up how many hot dogs you've eaten.
Wizard
I think Wizard is the most fun looking of these 1-2-Switch minigames. You and a partner can each grab a Nintendo Switch Joy-Con and go Harry Potter on each other in an epic wand duel.
Quick Draw
Quick Draw we already saw during the Nintendo Switch reveal event. You and a friend play pretend cowboys and try to find out who the fastest draw is. You gotta be quick in this minigame, or you'll be dead.
Table Tennis
In 1-2-Switch's Table Tennis you'll play a mock game of table tennis with a friend. You can use various buttons on your Joy-Con to serve up harder hits and out serve your friend.
Copy Dance
Copy Dance has two players each holding a Joy-Con. One player is designated to pose, and another must copy their pose.
Samurai Training
Samurai Training has one player swinging a sword while the other tries to catch it. If a player can catch the sword three times they win. However, just like real life, if they slip up on catching the sword even once, it's game over.
Milk
1-2-Switches Milk minigame has players milking cows. You gotta be gentle on those udders if you want to be the winner.
1-2 Switch has more fun minigames to play either by yourself or with friends. You can see the full line-up when 1-2-Switch debuts with the Nintendo Switch on March 3.

Yup, very much so. Thing is it's not even a video game, not really. I kinda feel like it would be more appropriate as a replacement for a boardgame night ice breaker or something quick and stupid in that vein of gameplay. There is value here in the middle school youth group/drunken college dorm party market I feel.

Using it as a drinking game has potential, but then you have a bunch of these games focusing on sound so you have to tell your party to shut up and listen while one person puts a virtual baby to sleep. As opposed to Johan Sebastian Joust or Jackbox Party Packs where many people can play at once and there's more of an objective. I'd love to see the focus testing for this or read about what their market is for it.
