Galactic Civilizations 3 Gets A New Expansion This Spring
Galactic Civilizations 3 will get the Crusade expansion with a wealth of new content in the next few months.
Stardock has announced an upcoming expansion to Galactic Civilizations 3, which will be releasing this spring with a graphics engine update, new aliens, espionage, a new campaign, and additional augments to Galactic Civilizations 3's array of tools.
"Our focus with Crusade has been to create a much deeper yet more approachable space strategy game," said Paul Boyer, Lead Designer of Galactic Civilizations 3 of the new update. "At the heart of your civilization are your citizens. What you do with your citizens, whether that be training them to be scientists, engineers, farmers, soldiers, diplomats, merchants and where you send them will determine how your civilization evolves."
Aside from a whole host of new additions (aliens are always exciting) the update will offer Galactic Citizens, which are spawned every few turns and can be assigned to several specifications to aid in boosting the player's global civilization or enhance a certain planet. You can utilize said Citizens to engage in espionage tactics to steal secrets and technology from enemies as well, which could even result in destroying entire systems the enemy has built up.
From there, you can also design your own unique civilization via the main menu, right down to the ships you plan on using for each new role. The focus is squarely on improving your Civilizations at a personal level, with augmented diplomacy tactics and the aforementioned alterations meant to completely alter the way your Citizens interact and behave.
You can expect to see the Galactic Civilizations 3 update at some point this spring, though an official release date has yet to be announced.
