In what was clearly an effort to get fired, I pitched my boss on the idea of debating Nintendo Switch on an episode of our Stuff That Sucks show. Asif replied, "but Switch doesn't suck, Greg." This is a break from the traditional format of the show. We each were given time to make 3 points about Nintendo Switch. I took the easier route of pointing out the negatives surrounding Switch while Asif tried to climb the mountain of fear to come up with three positive things to say about Nintendo's brand new console/portable hybrid. Please take a look at what could very well be the last video I ever post on Shacknews.com

I have to say this video was outstanding and I seriously mean that, if you guys can keep this battle royal format I really dig it. Kudos to who ever figured the VS idea(I will bet it was Greg).
Asif at the start you looked like you where in pain :( ready to die and that any Switch negative slowly kills you. LOL I wanted to give you a hug bro :)
All valid points for my self I really wish they would dump the 3DS like Greg said and the Switch is 100% a replacement I think that was a mistake. I guess though they see the 3DS as an entry handheld and the Switch is the Pro level so I get that(makes sense sort of, still don't like it). Still to me it be easier to have just one unit to me and the dev benefits to that would be massive.
Asif was 100% right Nintendo should pitch it as a handheld console that can connect to the TV not the other way around.
The launch line up I totally agree with Greg, but I can live with it most line ups sort of suck anyways so you pretty much are ready for that.
For me personally I selfishly wanted Tegra X2 in it(I get it would of jack up the price point and why it did not happen though) since I am a hardware nut job and that would of made the unit perfect. A Tegra X2 would = a extended battery life by double + and graphics performance by more than double. This can easily be fixed in version two like the PS4 Pro upgrade model etc and I am sure that will happen.
In closing I 100% respect what the Switch is, will get one and think its awesome and its clearly the most powerful hand held console every made. Also its NOT a home console(primary design) and it should not be thought of as one or compared to a regular home console.
That it my two cents, anyways I loved the video, thanks Greg and Asif it was good times. -

There's a way to do it that's tasteful and a way that isn't. I just think it's a sleazy look for any news outlet to use headlines like this, even if it is only video game "journalism." If they're okay with that then sure, they should keep it up. You guys are perfectly happy to give sites like Kotaku shit for posting trashy content though.

It's not clickbait, not really. You keep using the term because you don't like the way it makes you feel when you see the headline STUFF THAT SUCKS: NINTENDO SWITCH. Get over it, or better yet stop being a fanboy and getting your feelings all hurt when someone says something mean about your favorite impending console.
Words can't hurt you unless you let them.-
lol. There are plenty of things I'm not happy about with the Switch. I think you're the one not being objective about ShackNews. The point is, the headline is making a direct statement that the Switch sucks, intended for cheap shock value when that's not actually the message of the article (and even if it were that would be a pretty sensationalist thing to say so definitively based on a first reveal).
I realize the headline was chosen based on the understanding by long time readers that it's a regular segment by this name with a tongue-in-cheek tone, but IMO that's a mistake when you want to attract new readers and be seen as a reputable news source. Regular segment or not, headlines will be taken at face value by your readers.

I don't begrudge briefcase man anything in his efforts to grow the site. I don't feel the same way about other sites, but I am invested in this place and seeing it stick around. They gotta do what they gotta do to get eyeballs, its a tough market and you practically have to dare jaded gamers to read your piece these days, so I say go for it.

i enjoyed your clickbait video.
#1 battery life being insufficient in 2017 seems unlikely. my hands turn into useless zoidberg claws if i use a portable system for more than two hours.
#2 launch games are just launch games. development unification should create innovative new game experiences. its the same management approach kathleen kennedy is exercising with the creation of the lucasfilm/star wars story group as far as consistent narrative perspective. the games should be well engineered, engrossing and polished. i am sure they have learned from the failures of wii u.
#3 there is no "next portable" for any of these companies because soon the world will experience food/water shortages due to climate change. -
