Titanfall 2 update will add new Live Fire mode and maps
Changes to the playlist will be coming as well.
Titanfall 2 is starting off the new year right. After being on of Shack's Top 10 games for 2016, the devs at Respawn Entertainment are getting ready for their January update that will introduce an all new 6v6 mode called Live Fire.
The update, which will be "coming soon," focuses on pilot-only close-quarters combat. Community manager Jay Frechette explained the mode this way: "A round-based best of 5 mode with no respawns, you will have one minute to eliminate the opposing team in order to win the round. You can also win the round if your team is holding the neutral flag when the round timer ends. It’s fast, frantic, and sure to help hone those teamwork and mobility skills."
The mode will also introduce two maps called Stacks and Meadow.
In addition, a new Coliseum map called Columns will be added, as well as an upgrade to the playlist interface that could eliminate the two screens used to shop off the game modes. Players on PC may get it first to test it, but everyone will get the changes when the full content drop happens.
Frechette said the company plans to issue a "roadmap" in the coming weeks to show how the company plans on supporting Titanfall 2 post-launch. But you can expect new maps (including remasters of original Titanfall maps), weapons and modes along the way.
