Steam Servers Down During Winter Sale
You're a mean one, Mr. Server Grinch.
Just in time for the holidays, Steam is now down for several users, it seems, and it's unreachable right in the middle of the Steam Winter Sale of all times. It must be a sign that you spent a little too much money over the holiday season. It's also probably incredibly inconvenient if you had been planning to use your break to get some much-needed gaming time in.
This has been going on since around 7:30 AM PT, though Valve has yet to announce anything official. Some developers and official game accounts, like Rocket League's, have gone forward with commentary on the outage, with Rocket League noting Steam's widespread issues via Twitter.
PSA: Steam is experiencing a widespread outage, so PC players may not be able to play at this time. We'll update when more info comes in.

It's unclear what the problem itself actually is, but we're keeping an eye out for updates. We'll keep you updated as the situation improves or some official communication is put out via Valve.
Update: It appears from multiple reports that the servers seem to be up and running normally now.
