Tom Clancy's The Division has had its ups and downs, but it's been patched and updated into an entertaining game. If you tried it before and didn't like it, or you've been interested and haven't gotten around to playing it, you can try it for free this weekend on PC. The free weekend is limited to the Public Test Servers, but that's enough to get a good taste of what the gameplay is like.

The Division can be played for free on uPlay or Steam from now until 4 PM ET/1 PM PT on December 18. Ubisoft is also placing the Standard and Gold editions of the game and the Season Pass on sale for 50% off until December 19. So if you try it, and you like it, you can get it half off.

Former Shacknews Editor Daniel Perez enjoyed The Division, and I've played it off and on since launch. I can say that right now it's a much better product than it was at launch, and it's worth a try for anyone who likes MMO action RPGs.
