Ubisoft's Multiplayer VR Party Game Werewolves Within Available Today
Who will end up being the werewolf?
Ubisoft's upcoming Werewolves Within, the VR adaptation of the familiar competitive party game, is out now for Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR, and HTC Vive with cross-platform avialable between all of those devices. In short, if you've got any one of those VR platforms and you want to hit me up on PlayStation VR, we'd all be able to play together. What a world.
Here's the gist: Werewolves are just hanging around in plain sight in the medieval town of Gallowston. You'll need to speak with the other townsfolk while sitting around a campfire to deduce who's a werewolf and who's not. It's meant for five to eight players to get in on the game with, and there's a special guidebook included to help players figure out the right questions to ask and how to determine who, exactly, is a werewolf and who's not.
The coolest part is that VR will be used to animate your in-game avatar based on your voice inflection and other emphasis on words. It looks to be an incredibly social game, much like the forum versions several people tend to play, so I'm very interested in checking it out.
