Techland announced the Glaive class, a playable-character type available in Torment: Tides of Numenera.

The final character class will be revealed next week.

According to Techland's character bio, the Glaive class is aimed at players who like to go toe-to-toe with enemies and deal heavy damage. "Glaives are the elite warriors of the Ninth World – brandishing a diverse range of weaponry and offering a balance between might and speed. They are also the only class who can attack twice in one turn. Glaives engage in direct combat and enjoy a high defence rating."

Check out the accompanying character video to see the Glaive in action.

Pillars is good but I think that was by Obsidian while Torment is by inXile who made Wasteland 2, which was also good.

I keep from playing Pillars because I hear the story is mediocre and it's really focused on combat. Am I wrong in my impression of PIllars?

I hope this can recapture the magic, pillars and tyranny haven't been doing it for me

I'm finding Tyranny to be more engaging than Pillars was - I think the setting they've created is fairly unique.

Torment is looking great and I'm really looking forward to it.

It's the combat I'm not liking but I just found out torment is turn based which I liked in wasteland so I'm way more interested now
