Watch Dogs 2's seamless multiplayer is coming online, albeit slowly
You can now participate in co-op and be invaded (i.e. hacked) by other players.
After launching Watch Dogs 2 without its oft-touted seamless multiplayer features, Ubisoft is enabling online components in the PS4 version of the game.
Ubisoft began flipping switches early this morning, communicating changes on the Watch Dogs sub-Reddit.
"We're happy to share the good news that we brought the first phase of seamless multiplayer online at 8:00 a.m. PST / 11:00 a.m. EST / 5 p.m. CET for Playstation 4 and we anticipate that seamless multiplayer for Xbox One will be activated by early afternoon PST / evening EST / night CET," the developer wrote.
The first phase of Watch Dogs 2's seamless multiplayer lets you invite or search for co-op partners, hack into other players' worlds, and particulate in Bounty Hunts. You'll find these mode's in the game's multiplayer app.
In addition, you'll encounter other players in your world, with the option to partake in cooperative events and missions.
These updates overlapped with the release of Watch Dogs 2's 1.05 update, which addressed "important crash fixes that improve stability."
