NBA 2K franchise gets a VR mini-game experience tomorrow
It's not the full game, but you'll get on the court with Paui George for $15.
Take-Two is testing the VR landscape with one of its popular franchises. And it will be a ball, in a manner of speaking.
The NBA 2KVR Experience hits the court for PlayStation VR, HTC Vive and Samsung Gear. but It will not be the full game of NBA 2K17. It will be a series of minigames featuring Indiana Pacers star Paul George, and be located at the Pacers' home court of Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The game will allow players to practice three-point shooting and buzzer beaters. george will do commeantary and offer tips. The game will also offer leaderboards to compete with other players.
The game, developed by Visual Concepts, will sell for $15 and will be available tomorrow.
NBA 2K17 came out on September 20 and was the 5th most popular game in October's NPD report. The move by Take Two seems logical as a test rather than throwing a ton of money at a full game. It will be interesting to see the results. Imagine XCOM, BioShock or even a Grand Theft Auto in VR.
