The Game Awards will honor Hideo Kojima with an 'Industry Icon' award
On December 1st, Hideo Kojima will finally be recognized for all of his work during this year's The Game Awards.
The Game Awards will be taking place on December 1st, and after not being permitted to attend last year’s show, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima will be presented with the “Industry Icon” award during the event.
The news comes from The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley who tweeted out an image of Kojima holding a small globe. Underneath his name, the name of his “Industry Icon” award is displayed.

The ongoing saga that was Konami essentially locking Kojima away for several months came to an odd crescendo when the video game icon wasn’t allowed to attend last year’s The Game Awards, which we felt squandered any goodwill between the two. Now that Kojima has been freed from his shackles, it’s great to see him finally get an award worthy of his talents.
