YouTube influencer 'Markiplier' signs with the talent agency that represents Eminem and Ben Affleck
The online star has more than 15 million subscribers and over 6 billion views.
Mark "Markiplier" Fischbach signed with talent agency WME, the same entity that represents celebrities such as Ben Affleck and Eminem.
At 27 years old, Fischbach has more than 15 million YouTube subscribers and has accumulated over six billion views. He specializes in Let's Play videos punctuated with curse words, sound effects, and other emotes.
The report came from Variety, who speculated that Fischbach signed with WME in order to lay groundwork for an entertainment career outside of YouTube videos. "I want to push myself into music and acting — more traditional media stuff," the YouTube star told Variety earlier this year.
Fischbach began branching out before signing with a talent agency. He affiliates with Revelmode, a collaboration between Disney's Maker Studios and Felix "PewDiePie" Kjellberg that produces original scripted series and games.

I watched a few of his videos when he was just beginning, mostly VR horror stuff at the time. He seems (and everyone seems to confirm that he is) genuinely nice and great. His focus has shifted to more LOUD yelling, and more aimed at a younger audience. But apparently he's one of the biggest Youtubers right now, so it seems to have worked out for him, so props to him

Markiplier is a good guy. I like his earlier stuff more than the current, but he's been giving away to charity since he got started.
His reactions like this crack me up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcZPSkkfLEc&t=12m05s
