Battlefield 1's Screenshot and Spectator Tools Come To Consoles

Come and be the Kubrick of Battlefield 1!

1

Battlefield 1 is getting its own spectator mode and camera tools for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. So if you were looking forward to taking your own footage and showing off your best moves but didn't have a PC to do it all with, congrats! You can use a console to do it now instead when the game hits store shelves on October 21.

Screenshot artist Berduu was given early access to the tools, namely spectator mode, and he tried them out in an effort to show off and explain how, exactly, they're supposed to work. You can choose to follow a specific player or vehicle using a "director camera" that will lock onto that player's movement. From there, you can control the camera's position. You can also opt to use the "free camera" system instead and place various cameras around the game's landscapes.

There's a pretty robust set of tools at your disposal, including tools to tweak field-of-ivew and depth-of-field settings. You can also hide your HUD for additional shots. Check it out in action in the video below, and prep for Battlefield 1, which you can actually play a bit of beginning October 13 if you're a member of EA/Origin Access.
