New Danganronpa V3 will release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan in January 2017, Spike Chunsoft announced today.

New Danganronpa V3 will continue the overall plot of the Danganronpa franchise after all hell breaks loose at the end of both animes that are currently airing: Danganronpa 3: Future Arc and Danganronpa 3: Despair Arc.

The title will once again be played as a combination of visual novel and adventure game as it appears a new class of High-School Level students will once again participate in another killing game. Judging by the new trailer released today, it appears the main protagonist of New Danganronpa V3 is a female student, although her special ability is yet unknown. A total of 16 different students can be seen in the trailer as well as a new army of Monokumas.

New Danganronpa V3 is now scheduled to release in Japan in January 2017. There’s no word if it’ll be coming to the West, but considering the series’ popularity, especially on Steam, we have no doubt it’ll only be a matter of time until the game is published outside of Japan.
