Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Zombie experience has been building to a climax over the last several years. Now, the final chapter is coming in the Salvation DLC, slated for PS4 on September 6.

“With the release of Zombies as an Easter Egg in 2008’s Call of Duty®: World at War, Treyarch set forth on a journey – or, really a conversation – with fans, and Revelations is the final punctuation mark,” said Treyarch's Jason Blundell, who has directed the Zombie experience. “The secrets we laid out years ago will finally make sense – we’ve been waiting a long time for this.”

Revelations will be the final chapter for the Origins saga.  Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo, and Nikolai meet up with mysterious Dr. Monty at The House. From there, ancient evil, Zombie waves, save your immortal soul ... all in a day's work.

In addition to the Zombie mode, four new multiplayer maps will be released for more conventional combat:

  • Citadel: A mid-sized map set in a medieval castle for close-quarter engagements.
  • Micro: Be a toy soldier on a picnic table. Yeah, ok ...
  • Outlaw: Re-imagined Standoff map from Black Ops 2.
  • Rupture: Reimagined Outskirts map for COD: World at War in a futuristic setting.

The Salvation DLC is now available for pre-order of $15 if you don't have the season pass. PS4 players get first crack due to Activision's exclusivity deal with Sony. Xbox One and PC players will probably get it a month later. The DLC is not available for Xbox 360 or PS3, and this will be the final DLC for the game.
