Don't Starve Together brings hunger to PS4 in mid-September
The multiplayer mode will allow up to six players.
Don't Starve was a pretty popular game for PC when it was released in 2013. So much so that developer Klei Entertainment decided to bring the game to PS4, along with its various expansions. Now, Don't Starve Together, the multiplayer version of the game, is finally coming to PS4 on September 13.
While the PC version supported up to four players, PS4 expands that to six, along with the addition of split-screen co-op locally and online. "We loved hearing stories about friends and families finding creative ways to share the controller while playing the original single-player Don’t Starve," said Klei Community Manager Corey Rollins on the official PlayStation Blog. "From passing the controller every in-game day, every death, or simply at random, it was clear this was a game many people wanted to enjoy 'Together' (See what we did there?), on a couch. Now players will be able to survive together on the same couch, and even take their split-screen game online if they want and create or join an existing game to play with others."
In addition to the release announcement, Klei has also put together a Mega Pack that includes the new game and the add-ons:
- Don’t Starve Together: Console Edition
- Don’t Starve: Console Edition
- Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked
- Don’t Starve: Reign of Giants
- Don’t Starve: Console Edition: Shipwrecked Theme
- Don’t Starve: Console Edition: Autumn Theme
The pack will run $26.99, but if you have the original game on PS4, the Mega Pack will be discounted to $10.79.
The game came out of Early Access on PC in April. The Shipwrecked Edition for Xbox One came out in August.
