Overwatch's Bastion gets a sentimental side in new animated short
It's kind of like Wall-E and Iron Giant rolled into one.
Everyone know Blizzard's animation is top notch. It's animated shorts for Overwatch characters has been Pixar quality, and the latest "The Last Bastion" is no different.
In this one, the battle automaton finds itself as the last of its kind. It activaed by a bird, apparently unaware of the nature of its programming. The ensuing action offers a short journey of discovery and sentimentality, until the rata-tat-tat of a woodpecker shatters the tranquility and put the robot in attack mode.
I won't spoil the ending, but the video offers a feel of Wall-E meets the Iron Giant, and ranks as one of the better shorts Blizzard has done for the game. Too bad there isn;t a switch that you can flip in-game to put Bastion in its passive mode.
