Destiny servers going down today for maintenance across all platforms
Prepare for some more downtime, Guardian.
Bungie has announced it will be taking Destiny’s servers down for a scheduled maintenance today.
Destiny’s server maintenance will start at approximately 9am PT as Guardians won’t be able to log into the game in preparation for the upcoming downtime. Then at 10am PT, Guardians will proceed to be removed from all activities as Destiny’s servers will be taken offline for its maintenance, although as usual, Guardians that are logged in will receive an in-game message prior to being forced to log out.
Today’s server maintenance is expected to conclude by 12pm PT, which is pretty short compared to previous times Bungie brought down Destiny’s servers for maintenance. During the maintenance period, Bungie.net sign-in and companion app services will most likely be restricted, but once maintenance has concluded, all services and Destiny login functionality will be fully restored.
If you find yourself suddenly with nothing to do, feel free to check out our interview with Deej at E3 2016 where he talks about the Rise of Iron DLC. Although if you own the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version of Destiny, you should probably skip it altogether.
