It's kind of all over the map. The most successful supports this patch are probably shadow demon, Ogre magi and elder Titan. Initiators are the classic beast master, faceless void, slardar, and interestingly tide hunter in my opinion. Lots of carries, from Luna, to Mirana to timbersaw, jugg or huskar. Basically id say the key to winning is to get an early lead and transition that into tower pushes. Then farm out the map to starve your opponent. Finally get a high ground push
Lots of different strategies: early game death push, gank mercilessly until you have your items, Go for the late game better heroes, all the classics. I'm sure someone else can do a better job of summarizing it than I can

How do the pros in this game actually practice?
Each game is 45 min - 1 hour and requires such a huge ramp up before anything interesting occurs (usually) where most of the time is spent fighting creeps.
Seems so hard to practice anything late game with serious stakes because once you get to that level you won't be able to fight anyone but other pro teams to develop strategies and tactics and such. Or maybe that's all they do is fight each other as practice outside tournaments?-

Honestly to be a pro dota player many say you need to play 6-9 hours a day. At that rate you have at least 8 games if not more and probably triple that number of team fights. People also analyze replays in great detail to understand what went wrong. It's insane how fast the decision making is in the game it's like speed chess played by 5 people in real time vs each other. Which is why it's fun but also incredibly complicated.

PPD these last 3 games has been picking pretty predictable lineups. It's why these teams have been able to draft against them so well. Universe had tons of bad Chronos this game. Specifically going on the Razor and them blowing everything on him only to not kill him. Razor's passive makes it hard to hit him already so going on him was dumb. Then you had the other Chrono in the Radiant jungle where he goes right on the Tide with the Naga right next to him.

It was a mirana alternative pick since they didn't get mirana (but certainly wanted her).
It didn't work well.
Overall EGs draft was a bit more greedy and a bit later timing than DCs. They also played poorly which really pushed it back further. DC just out drafted them hard for the midgame fight imo.
