PaRappa the Rapper anime series begins airing next week
A new PaRappa the Rapper anime will kick off next week, although the new series will be very short as they'll only be a little over a minute in length.
Kick! Punch! It’s all in the mind!
PaRappa the Rapper anime shorts will begin airing on Fuji TV starting on August 18.
The pilot episode will premiere on the late-night variety show #Hi Poul on August 18, but will then become a regular segment in October. The shorts will run for approximately 96 seconds and will center around PJ Berri, although PaRappa and Chop Chop Master Onion are expected to pop up sometime during PJ’s “adventures.” We put adventures in quotes because PJ Berri’s hobbies include eating, sleeping, music, and donuts.
The anime was created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the PaRappa the Rapper franchise as well as the 15th anniversary of the original 2001 anime.
While we would prefer for a new PaRappa anime series to star the iconic rap superstar himself, we guess we’ll be OK with one starring PJ Berri, so long as he’s often hanging out with both PaRappa and Chop Chop Master Onion.
