Destiny servers going down today for maintenance for several hours
Prepare for some more downtime, Guardian.
Bungie has announced it will be taking Destiny’s servers down for maintenance today starting at 8am PT and is expected to last less than four hours.
The service maintenance period kicks off at 8am PT as Guardians won’t be able to log into the game as Bungie prepares to take Destiny’s servers down for maintenance. Then at 9am PT, Guardians will be removed from all activities as Destiny’s servers will be taken offline for maintenance.
Bungie says this server maintenance period is expected to conclude prior to 12pm PT. Until then, Bungie.net sign-in and Companion app services may be restricted, although all services and Destiny logins will be restored once the maintenance period concludes.
As usual, if you’re playing Destiny this morning, you’ll be given a notice of its upcoming server maintenance period prior to being booted from the game. Fortunately, Bungie has been pretty quick with its recent server maintenance periods as the previous two have lasted well under four hours.
If you find yourself suddenly with nothing to do, feel free to check out our interview with Deej at E3 2016 where he talks about the Rise of Iron DLC. Although if you own the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version of Destiny, you should probably skip it altogether.
