Darksiders: Warmastered Edition revealed for late October release
We were wrong. It's not remastered ... It's WARmastered!
Nordic Games revealed last week that it was going to remaster the original Darksiders, but didn't offer many details. Luckily, we didn't have to wait long, as the game gets a massive facelift on all platforms, and will be coming out on October 25.
Dubbed the Warmastered Edition, the updated game will include:
- PS4, Xbox One and Wii U versions of Darksiders (Wrath of War)
- Native 1080p rendering resolution for console platforms
- 4k support and additional video options for PC
- Doubled all the texture resolutions
- Rendering improvements and rework
- Better shadow rendering quality
- Post processing effects
- 60 FPS in moment to moment gameplay on PS4, Xbox One, and PC; 30 FPS on WiiU)
This version of the game is being developed by Kaiko, which has previously assisted Nordic with the Xbox One Version of Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition and Legend of Kay Anniversary edition.
The info released last week apparently caught the PR and marketing team by surprise. "We had a short-lived epidemic of premature emancipation, causing the affected persons to burp out sensitive info a little sooner than planned” joked Philipp Brock, PR & Marketing Director at Nordic Games in the press release, “but after a minor surgery and some medication, we got it all under control.”
The game will sell for $19.99 on all platforms.

Since I am a ARPG junkie for me personally DS2 was my fav, I hope they keep the loot.
I will get 3 no matter what though with loot or without I love both games and am cool with either style.
1 is a classic though there is no doubt about that.
Just curious do you dislike Diablo 3, Torchlight series, WOW, or any games that have a loot system? What was the beef about the loot in Darksiders 2? -
