Developer Frontier is giving away Arena, the multiplayer component of its popular spacefaring shooter Elite Dangerous, for free until next Monday.

Elite Dangerous: Arena is a standalone version of the full game's multiplayer mode. You can grab it from Frontier's storefront or the game's Steam page. Even though you won't have access to any single-player content, you'll be able to compete against friends who own the full game.

"Fly agile fighters and go head-to-head against the galaxy’s greatest pilots in PVP dogfights," reads the game description on Steam. "Easy to pick up controls reward your developing skills with more to master for that ultimate combat edge. Choose your ship, customise your load out and prepare for instant Arena-based action to earn the right to become Elite."

Elite Dangerous: Arena will revert to its standard price of $7.49 on Monday, July 11. Adding it to your library now will secure it to your account permanently even if you don't play during the promotion.
