Street Fighter V update hits July 1 with new characters and story mode
A Shadow Falls story will bridge the gap between Street Fighter III and IV.
Bits and pieces of the Street Fighter V June update have been trickling out over the past few weeks, from the new story mode and the characters of Balrog and Ibuki, to the new character costumes and stage variations. Capcom has finally released the official details, with the new update hitting tomorrow.
The cinematic story mode, entitled A Shadow Falls, is designed to bridge the gap between Street Fighter III and IV, focusing on the World Warriors rising up against the evil Shadaloo organization. Players will have access to 16 characters, as well a six addition released and unreleased 2016 DLC toons. This content will be free to all.
In addition to Balrog and Ibuki, the update brings two new stages (and three alternates), matchmaking improvements, new costumes for each character, and an in-game shop. Here are the costs tor the extra content:
- Ibuki: $5.99 (100,000 fight money)
- Balrog: $5.99 (100,000)
- New Stages: $3.99 (70,000)
- Alternate Stages: $1.99 (40,000)
- Story Costumes: $1.99 (40,000)
- Premium Costumes (Battle and Summer) $3.99 (cash only)
