Watch Dogs 2 offers premium editions, bonus mission for pre-orders
Get twice as many twice as many Watch Dogs for pre-ordering special editions of Ubisoft's open-world sequel.
That Ubisoft would release a sequel to Watch Dogs was less a rumor and more a sure thing. The question was when, not if. Official word that the game will release in November came this morning, as well as, inevitably, confirmation of a slew of special editions and a pre-order bonus.
Giving Ubisoft your money ahead of time buys you access to Zodiac Killer, a bonus mission centered on a character from the original game that was never brought to justice. Your reward for apprehending the target will be a special outfit, though Ubisoft hasn't given concrete details.
Additionally, three special editions of Watch Dogs 2 will appear alongside the run-of-the-mill standard package this fall. They come in three flavors: Deluxe, which packs in digital items; Gold, featuring a season pass and the items from the Deluxe package; and Collector's Edition, a bundle available through UPlay Shop that comes with a Wrench Junior Robot controlled via smartphone app, and the player's choice of the Standard, Deluxe, or Gold edition of the game.
The Collector's Edition ranges in price from $104.99 to $149.99 depending on which version of the game you choose. In other words, if you absolutely need that robot but aren't interested in Deluxe or Gold-exclusive content, you can opt for the Standard version of Watch Dogs 2 and tack on an extra $40 and change for the lil' buddy.
Watch Dogs 2 releases on November 15 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
