Just Cause 3 Mech Land Assault DLC releasing this week
Get behind a powerful mech in Just Cause 3's latest expansion, Mech Land Assault.
Hot on the heels of his flight towards the Sky Fortress, Rico will soon be making his way to the island of Lacrima for Just Cause 3’s second content pack, Mech Land Assault on June 3.
Just Cause 3: Mech Land Assault has Rico heading towards Lacrima, where an abandoned eDen research base and prison camp is located. The camp, which is run by the mysterious group only known as Black Hand, is defended by large mechs. Rico will need to harness the power of the new Bavarium Power Core rifle to disable the shields of these mechs to then hijack them.
Once Rico hijacks a mech, he can use its powerful cannons and its GRIP Gravity Guns to fling enemies and anything else with great ease. There are two powerful mechs that can be hijacked, both of which allow Rico to jump into the air to smash helicopters, ground pound tanks, and call in a Rebel Mech buddy to add some extra firepower when the going gets tough. Rico’s mechs can also be upgraded by passing Mech arena challenges.
“The Bavarium Wingsuit from the Sky Fortress DLC fundamentally changed how Rico could traverse Medici. This time, we wanted to shake up how Rico interacts with his environment in a similar way,” explained Tobias Andersson, Senior Producer at Avalanche Studios. “The new Mechs allow Rico to throw enemies, vehicles and chaos objects around like tennis balls – increasing the scope for physics-based fun. Whether you’re juggling a small car or punching helicopters out of the sky, the Mechs give you the opportunity to mess with your surroundings in creative, explosive ways.”
The Mech Land Assault pack is priced at $11.99 and will release for Air, Land, and Sea Expansion Pass owners on June 3, with a wider release following on June 10.
