If you don't want to wait to get loot boxes, then buy a few.
If you have been playing - or trying to play - Overwatch since it launched, you've been getting loot crates as you level up. If you don't want to wait, Blizzard has unveiled the pricing for getting more cosmetic loot quickly.
Here's how much impatience will cost you:

- 5 loot boxes: $5 / £4 / €5
- 11 loot boxes: $10 / £8 / €10
- 24 loot boxes: $20 / £16 / €20
- 50 loot boxes: $40 / £33 / €40
Each loot box will include up to four new skins, voice lines, animations, and sprays.

I think everyone knows that Blizzard is only doing this to focus on the people who have "catch them all" syndrome and already spend hundreds of dollars on microtransactions in other games.
It isn't for the people who don't give a shit about cosmetic stuff. I think Blizzard is doing the right thing here because it will hopefully fund the game for quite awhile long past release. They don't want a paid DLC model that fractures the player base. -

are those not part of the gameplay? royalally was talking about any DLC item with "benefits to gameplay." i'm the one that brought up the term "win."
imo the real difference here is that WoW isn't considered a competitive game. Overwatch obviously is. it's more important that the playing field be level with Overwatch-

i've killed two thousand human players and counting since my pally's boost. that's not really relevant though, you guys are missing the point. royalally suggested we'd be mad if these boxes contained anything with benefits to game play at all and mentioned WoW as an example. i mentioned that actually WoW does have things you can buy with benefits to gameplay, and also suggested that i don't think Overwatch will have this because the games are different. you guys went off on a tangent about a term that royalally didn't even use

Buying loot boxes is such a terrible thing to spend money on. If you could specifically buy skins that would be one thing, but spending money to essentially roll the dice is lame. I knew if I bought a pack of these I'd end up with a ton of sprays and taunts or whatever, sprays are only fun when they are user created like TF2
