Syberia 3 finally gets a release date
It's only been 12 years since Syberia 2.
The long road to Syberia 3 has been an adventure unto itself, but now, 12 years after Syberia 2 came out, we finally have a release date. Syberia 3 will be coming out on December 1 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The sequel, which is again penned by Benoit Sokal with music from Inon Zur, brings attorney Kate Walker back to assist a caravan of the Youkol people she met in the previous game. This time around, it will be all about saving the snow ostriches: "Kate decides to help the nomads fulfill the oddest of their ancestral traditions: accompanying the transhumance of the snow ostriches to the holy steppes where they can reproduce." A noble cause, indeed.
Check out the video documentary about the game's long development.
The game was originally planned for a 2014-15 release date. Maybe the extra time was for localization. The game is being released in 11 different languages.
