Gigantic has been saved by Perfect World Entertainment
Perfect World Entertainment has entered a publishing deal with Motiga Games and will be the publisher of Gigantic.
Perfect World Entertainment has announced it plans to publish Motiga Games’ Gigantic.
Perfect World Entertainment plans to expand Motiga’s reach by allowing it to support players with Win64 operating systems through the Arc Games platform, as well as a standalone launcher. This support will be in addition to the previously announced Windows 10 and Xbox One versions.
“Our team is thrilled to work with Perfect World Entertainment who shares our vision for our game. This partnership will enable us to focus on creating the best experience possible.” said Chris Chung, CEO of Motiga. “Motiga has always thrived off of the excitement of our players, and the continued success that Perfect World Entertainment has had in the free-to-play space has solidified our desire to partner with them for our upcoming launch.”
Motiga Games was hit with “significant” layoffs back in February and was seeking funding to help complete Gigantic. Today’s news means the studio was able to seek additional funding thanks to Perfect World Entertainment, and now that the game is back on track, hopefully Motiga can stay true to its word and hire back those who were previously laid off.
We checked out Gigantic back at E3 2015 where we considered it to be a monster hybrid of both a shooter and MOBA. Feel free to check out our impressions here.
