Nearly a year after dropping the price of the Nintendo 2DS down to $99, Nintendo has announced its kid-friendly handheld will now be priced at a suggested retail price of $79.99 starting on May 20.

While the $79.99 price point for the Nintendo 2DS seems like a good deal, the inclusion of a pre-installed copy of Mario Kart 7 in some systems makes this an even more appealing offer.

“Nintendo 2DS is the best value available for a portable dedicated gaming system and is great for gaming on the go,” said Nintendo of America executive vice president of sales & marketing Scott Moffitt. “The system has a library full of high-quality games for purchase, some in our Nintendo Selects category for less than $20 each, featuring Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi and Zelda.”

There’s already quite the lineup of must-have games on the 3DS system, many of which will also play on the Nintendo 2DS. And in just a couple of weeks, a new Kirby game, called Kirby: Planet Robobot, will be launching.
