Total War: Warhammer adds Bretonnia as multiplayer playable race
Knights and peasants will not be playable in the grand campaign, however.
We've known that Bretonnia would be part of the upcoming Total War: Warhammer game as an AI faction, but now it has been revealed that it will actually be a playable race in custom and multiplayer battles when the game launches. Yup, the race will not be DLC or free-LC after release.
Even though the race will not be playable in the grand campaign, developer Creative Assembly wanted to get give players the chance to play with the knights and the peasants they use as cannon-fodder.
If you don;t know about Bretonnia, here's the race description: "Characterised by a range of powerful armoured units, including the iconic barded warhorses and flying Pegasus Knights; Bretonnian battle tactics frequently revolve around shattering and unstoppable charges. Also of note is the devastating Trebuchet artillery, and the numerous massed ranks of archers, capable of filling the air with swarms of arrows. While Bretonnian armies might lack the huge monsters that other races can often employ, they can bring to bear powerful magic users in the guise of Enchantresses; capable not only of offensive spells but also powerful buffs to further enhance their knights to superhuman levels."
Check out the video, which has YouTuber Lionheartx10 taking the role of the Bretonnians and Community team member Darren playing the Vampire Counts at the city of Couronne.
Total War: Warhammer is coming to PC on May 24.
