HTC 10 releasing in US in early May; pre-orders begin today
HTC has announced its latest flagship phone, the HTC 10, and looks to improve on a number of issues users have had with previous models.
HTC has unveiled its new flagship phone, the HTC 10.
The HTC 10 offers a combination of the design of its M series of devices with the A9 that was just released last Fall. The device features a 5.2-inch quad HD Super LCD 5 display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and microSD support. The phone is equipped with a 3000mAh battery, which HTC says allows the device to run for up to two days through the combination of software and hardware optimizations. When you finally decide to charge it, you’ll be able to get it back up and running quickly through the support of Quick Charge 3.0 through its USB Type-C port.
The HTC 10 promises to make poor camera performance a thing of the past as it has a 12MP rear-facing camera with a f/1.8 lens, dual-LED flash and second-gen laser autofocus. The front-facing camera has also received a nice bump compared to previous HTC flagship phones as it has a 5MP sensor, which also has a f/1.8 lens, which should improve low-light photos.
HTC has always attempted to deliver the best audio experience possible on a smartphone, and the HTC 10 looks to continue this trend as it’s certified for Hi-Res audio. Its headphone amp delivers twice the power of a conventional headphone amp, with the ability to upscale from 16-bit to 24-bit audio. The phone also features a Personal Audio Profile system that allows users to create a unique profile that’s tuned to your individual hearing, and thus, allowing you to hear music the way the artist intended. For those who prefer to listen to their content through a device’s speakers, the HTC 10 features a re-engineered version of its HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition speakers.
The HTC 10 will be made available across a variety of carriers in the US with pre-orders kicking off today and shipments will start going out in early May. An unlocked version of the HTC 10 will also be available in Glacier Silver and Carbon Gray and will retail for $699.

Releasing in early May! Remember this is HTC, early May could mean anything - like June or July.
Based on past experience, don't preorder until the third day - that way you're more likely to get it sooner than if you order it the first day. Also make sure you have credit on your phone so when they automatically cancel your order you will be able to contact them!
Yes I'm bitter.
