Dark Souls Board Game Should Give You Even More Ways To Die
Steamforged Games will work with Bandai Namco to bring the dark and deadly title to tabletop through Kickstarter.
If you haven't had enough ways to die in Dark Souls games, then you may want to consider getting your virtual wallet ready to support an upcoming tabletop endeavor for the franchise.
That's right. Steamforged Games has revealed (via Polygon) that it will start crowdfunding the as-yet-unnamed game through Kickstarter with the blessing on Bandai Namco later this month. "As Dark Souls fans, we could not be more excited to be given the honour of developing a board game that embraces everything that makes Dark Souls the deep, compelling game experience that it is," the company said on its web site.
The company has already had one successful Kickstarter back in 2014 for a "medieval football" game called Guild Ball. It raised more than three time what it had been asking for, and met all its obligations to backers by the end of June 2015.
The timing is perfect for the announcement, given that Dark Souls 3 just came out late last month. Bandai Namco had teased some other big news for today about the franchise, but fans were upset when all they got was a lousy t-shirt.
