Nintendo updating Wii U and 3DS eShops to support remote downloads
Miitomo isn't the only thing Nintendo is launching this week.
Nintendo has announced it will be launching Miitomo later this week, but in addition to this announcement, the company has revealed it is making some enhancements to both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS shop on Nintendo.com that will make it much easier to purchase digital content.
Users will now be able to purchase digital content for both the Wii U and 3DS on Nintendo.com, which will then be sent directly to a users’ console for download. While this feature has already been available on competing digital storefronts, Nintendo’s support is a welcomed change as it no longer requires users to be in front of their console in order to make a purchase.
Digital content can also be discovered by searching for new, popular, and on sale content, as well as the use of filters to search by genre.
The updated Nintendo.com will launch on March 31 with purchases able to take place on both mobile devices as well as traditional computers.
