XCOM 2's first DLC offers tons of soldier customization options; new patch coming soon

We wouldn't blame the aliens for running away after seeing Anarchy's Children.

2K and Firaxis Games have announced the first add-on pack for XCOM 2, called Anarchy's Children, will be available on March 17.

Anarchy’s Children will feature over 100 new exotic soldier customization options, such as new hairstyles, face paints, armor, lower face props, decals, helmets, masks, and more.

In addition to next week’s add-on pack, Firaxis Games is currently preparing a patch that will include performance optimizations and gameplay bug fixes, which it will share info on very soon. Let’s hope one of those performance optimizations is support for additional gamepads that aren’t the Steam Controller.

Anarchy’s Children will be available for individual purchase for $4.99, although those who purchased the season pass for XCOM 2 will be able to access it free of charge.

I really don't care beyond changing the overall armor color of specific classes so I can recognize them from a distance. Like my snipers are always white and grenadiers green. I also color coordinate by spec if I have two of the same class.

I pretty much leave everything else random. I'd hate taking the time to specialize every character when they're so expendable. The character pool stuff is neat way to avoid wasting time with that junk, you can let other people set up the characters with specific looks, and then recruit them in your game without touching any customization options.

There was a shack character pool site somewhere.

The first DLC being a cosmetic pack is pretty odd considering the modding capabilities.

I'd expect knock-offs of all the items to be in the Steam workshop before the thing even comes out honestly.

And again, with it being cosmetic...who gives a shit?

I don't care if they sell it or whatever, just wondering how the business side thought this was a good idea given the modding ability.

Not defending or supporting this, just intrigued at the thought process.

I just want to be able to make my dudes look like Space Marines.

Disappointed there isn't a total conversion yet

I didn't do it at all in the first game but I did mess around with it this time mostly when my soldiers reached a certain level
