Rebellion has announced a new Sniper Elite title, called Sniper Elite 4, is currently in development and is expected to be released in 2016.

Sniper Elite 4 will be a direct sequel to Sniper Elite 3 as players can expect to continue the story of marksman Karl Fairburne as he travels to Italy. Fairburne travels to Italy to fight alongside the Italian Resistance in order to free it from Fascism, as well as setting off on a mission to defeat a new threat that can halt Allied advancements in Europe.

Sniper Elite 4 will feature the largest maps yet in the series, is expected to run at 1080p on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and will include a standard campaign mode, co-op, and multiplayer modes.
