ESL Gaming strikes new partnership deals with Twitch and Yahoo
ESL Gaming is having a very good day today, renewing its multi-year partnership with Twitch and also striking a new deal with the newly-minted Yahoo Esports.
This day has been an eventful one for the folks at ESL Gaming. The massive esports company has many games it is covering under its umbrella and today, it has reached a pair of partnership agreements that will help bring those competitive gaming events to the masses.
The first thing to note is that ESL is extending its successful partnership with Twitch. The two have been in collaboration since 2011 and have reached an agreement to work together for years to come. The terms of the contract were not made available, but Twitch representatives are stating that it is a multi-year deal.
In addition to that, ESL and Yahoo have also come to terms on a deal, as part of the latter's newest esports initiative. This will represent Yahoo's first live broadcast of a major esports event and it is bringing out the big guns early, utilizing the same high definition production used during its exclusive broadcast of last October's Buffalo Bills/Jacksonville Jaguars NFL regular season game.
Both Twitch and Yahoo are now set to broadcast the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Intel Extreme Masters World Championship event from Katowice. The event is set to run from today through Sunday, March 6.
